"Do you feel that breeze? That's God blowing you kisses."

Day 4...out the door!
Today was a really long day. It was one of the best days so far though. Again we started off at the construction site and this morning we got put into different groups to a few different habitat houses on the same block. Two girls were helping Matt at the house we have been working on, the guys got sent with Merritt to a house up the street to build a fence, and the rest of us were sent to build frames at another house. We worked today with a bunch of elderly gentlemen of the weekday volunteer staff and it was a blast spending time with them today!
The day went on and lunch time came around and we were catered today by a weekday volunteer named Geneva. She made us ziti and lasagna, salad, and we got fresh pastries from Panera. It was an amazing lunch! I know we all do not want to have to go back to dinning commons food in a few days.
Patience was definitely a virtue today. We are so blessed to be able to work with a construction crew that is patient enough to answer all of our questions without any frustration. Karen would answer all of our questions when were were constantly calling her. Same with Matt and Merritt. They are so good at being there to answer all of our questions, big and small. They really are amazing people. And I wish I could come up with a better word for it but I just can't.

After a long day, with some sun but warmer weather, we all got a chance to go back to our cabins and shower and NAP!! No places to go and after a long must needed nap we had a cook out. Merritt and Karen joined in our fun and so did the owner of the property we are staying at. We cooked burgers and hot dogs, had a campfire with smores and banana boats and told stories and riddles. It was so relaxing and a great way to end a day. The night was drawing to a close and we were finishing up some riddles and a bunch of us decided to go on a hike through the woods. The property we are on has a hiking trail. So with our flashlights we headed out. It is a beautiful night, clear skies and a full moon, great for hiking. It was nice to walk around although the guys kept trying to freak us out (kinda expected of course) But it was a good time. And now I am back in the cabin about to head to bed and I cannot help but smile. God has blessed me so much with this opportunity to be here with these people. I remember looking around the campfire and realizing I would not have met half of the people I did or get to now them as well if I did not decide to come on this trip. well that's about it time to hit the sack :) Night!
